Responsibilities:


· Provide expertise and direction in the development or modification of complex software programs to enhance an operating system


· Provide functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software operating systems


· Instruct, assign, and oversee the performance of less experienced software systems engineers


· Evaluate system performance and make recommendations for improvement


· Monitor the performance of installed systems and initiate appropriate actions to optimize/correct system shortfalls


· Install, review, evaluate and report on the performance of IT systems hardware and software


· Develop and recommend performance evaluation techniques, optimization procedures, models and other improvements


Requirements:


· BS degree


· Seven to nine years telecommunication and networking experience


· DoD Secret level clearance


· Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance/access


· Ability to conduct technical and diagnostic hardware and software analyses to determine root cause of abnormalities


· Provide technical expertise for acquisition of IT equipment (HW/SW; network/system interfaces; OS; devices and products; and software to support existing and planned systems)


· Setup, configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft domain environments


· Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Exchange servers


· Conduct problem analysis, definition, solution and recovery from operation malfunctions involving system software, hardware, telecommunications, etc.


· Evaluate and implement technical standards relative to the operation of server rooms and IT infrastructure


· Apply OS patches to maintain servers at the most current level using enterprise standard tools for updating and patching


· Ensure all servers are in compliance with appropriate STIG and apply patches/updates as required


· Analyze and manage requirement documents for programs


· Architect solutions that maximize efficiency, design, reuse, performance, and scalability


· Generate documents/specifications as the system/subsystem level


· Coordinate design, implementation, integration, and verification efforts


· Coordinate and conduct systems analysis, validation, and verification


· Identify and ensure system technical issues are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner


· Experience with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio



Preferred:


· Experience installing, configuring, and managing Dell, HP, and Cisco server and blade server platforms


· Experience with Agile development
