Technical Services Manager provides on an on-site representative overseeing technical services, technical management, for a worldwide defense agency. In this role, the manager will lead a team of system administrators, database

administrators, and application programmers to provide but not limited to application, database, and system administration and incident and problem resolution for physical and virtual systems. Further details on duties are as follows.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Position functions as the technical services delivery manager of a contractor team. The successful candidate will also ensure the development and coordination of services to ensure delivery of services are met in

compliance with defined contractual SLAs.

Duties also include:

- High-level understanding of IT Operations/Support (Infrastructure, asset management, Unix and DB Support, test and development environment management, SAN, systems administration, facility operations, network, server, application and disk performance and availability, Architecture Support, Enterprise Application Management, Windows, Linux, Virtualization, DBA, computer security compliance)

- Create project plans or work with program management team to implement the technical solutions, based on provided templates

- Interface with the project manager and core technical peers for insight and solution planning and execution

- Experience with Cloud(aaS)

- Designing, managing, monitoring, and optimizing geographically dispersed networked and database systems

- Security patching, upgrades, and configuration/policy change in compliance with all required IA and Security implementation/compliance requirements, including DISA Security Technical Information Guides (STIGs), Gold Disk,

vulnerability scans

Basic Experience and Education:

- BS Degree or equivalent in an Information Systems/Technology, Engineering discipline and 10+ years in IT Operations or IT Technology Services Delivery/Management

- Expertise needed in several of the listed areas: Infrastructure, Asset Management, Unix and DB Support, Test and Development Environment Management, SAN, Systems Administration, Operations Support, Architecture Support, Virtualization, Cloud(aaS) and Cloud Migration Edge, Enterprise Application Management, Windows, Linux, and DBA

Required Qualifications:

- Mid- level understanding of project planning and creation of project plans

- Experience with CA-1, Symantec NetBackup Appliances, EMC Data Domain Disk or Veeam virtual server backup software

- Ability to provide a variety/diversity of skills as well as the ability to analyze situations and provide solutions

- Experience with database management support to include Oracle (version 11g or higher) and MS SQL (version2008 R2 or higher) platforms. Proficient in Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC), oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), and Oracle Advanced Replication, oracle Dataguard, and Oracle Recovery Manger (RMAN) software.

- Experience with Queue Management, Run Books, and Automation - Experience with Remedy and ITAMS

- Experience supervising database administrators

- Demonstrated expertise providing overall enterprise-level database system administration, planning, and management

- Ability to collaboratively to develop solutions that meet the needs of various stakeholders

- Ability to structure and define staffing and workload based on project planning

- Ability to investigate technical issues and determine plans for the solution of the issue

- Ability to ensure compliancy with defined project SLAs

- Ability to provide periodic documentation in compliance with CDRLs

- DoD Secret Security Clearance

- Comply with DoD 8570 IAT-II certifications requirements

Desired Qualifications:

- Historical experience on Agile/DevOps program execution methodologies and best practices

- A broad range of hands-on-experience in key IT disciplines (Networks, Windows, Linux, DBA, SAN, Virtualization


- Current MS Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification (other certifications desired)

- Current Oracle Database Certification (other certifications desired, Microsoft SQL Server MCSA/MSCE)

- Excellent writing skills for documenting formal system documentation

- Experience in project planning and estimation of LOE

- Experience in implementing/coordination with Information Assurance team members that requires a solid understanding

- f implementing defined security controls

- A good understanding of operating system vulnerabilities and migration strategies

- Additional applications may include, but are not limited to, products such as OCS/Lync/Skype for Business, SharePoint, CITRIX, webMethods, WebLogic, Websphere MQ, IIS, Apache, Vontu, Remedy, MS Exchange Server, Office 365, Microsoft OneDrive, Active Directory, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
