Airborne System/Payload Analyst Modeling Principal (Job Number:416337)


JOB DESCRIPTION: Conduct performance analysis of electronic payloads. Analyze test results and summarize performance with respect to system requirements.

Could include: Plans and executes modeling and simulation systems development projects. Possesses and applies knowledge about simulation methods for analysis of complex human-machine systems and training. Designs and develops simulation systems and modeling of simulation objects. Duties may include performing analysis applying appropriate scientific and engineering processes and modeling techniques to the life-cycle development of systems; performing analysis and trade-off studies related to operational issues, and reviewing test plans to ensure MOEs address operational requirements using modeling and simulation tools and techniques; reviewing plans for system integration, operation, and maintenance and assisting in the development of training for operational personnel. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee). Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to development of new principles and concepts. Participates with senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Recommends/makes decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives. PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. FREEDOM TO ACT: Works under consultative direction toward pre-determined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of supervisor. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. IMPACT: Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically results in failur to achieve critical organizational objectives and affect image of organization's technological capability. LIASON: Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.


Required Education & Experience:

Masters Degree + minimum 12 years of experience building mathematical models analyzing payload performance, and assessing system vulnerabilities. Experience to include using modeling tools such as satellite tool kit (STK).

Desired Skills:

Doctorate degree + minimum 9 years of experience building mathematical models analyzing payload performance, and assessing system vulnerabilities. Experience to include using modeling tools such as satellite tool kit (STK).
