About the Position:
Jurisdiction Finance. Analyst/Senior Analyst, Modelling and Data Analytics (NE) focuses on jurisdiction business modelling and creating analysis to provide insight to support jurisdiction decisions. Researches and develops market views to create Jurisdiction assumptions to support stakeholders.
Reports to the Manager, Modelling and Data Analytics (NE) and supports Jurisdiction through developing modelling and providing data analysis to support the jurisdiction.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Researches and develops market views to create Jurisdiction assumptions to support stakeholders.
Responsible for analysis of financial performance and sharing insights with Jurisdiction.
Creates financial assumptions to drive consistency in Jurisdiction and assist in driving financial performance.
Provides insight through modelling and analysis to support Jurisdiction profitability.
Utilizes jurisdiction pricing data to develop long-term modelling and create assumptions.
Supports strategic analyses through reviewing Jurisdiction KPIs to reduce / eliminate performance gaps.
Applies regulatory requirements for Jurisdiction and translates into financial business performance drivers.
Performs monthly analysis to provide relevant and timely insight.
Provides analysis to complete pre-filing discovery responses.
Assists in the analyses of litigation and settlements with Jurisdiction and Regulatory Finance.
Responsible for supporting financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements.
Knowledge & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, MBA or CPA preferred.
3+ years relevant experience.
Proven experience in Jurisdiction or Regulatory Finance.
Previous experience researching and developing market views.
Demonstrated financial, and business analytics modelling.
Background in utility service business activities required.
Advanced computer skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Access; SAP preferred.
Excellent written / oral communication skills, follow-up, and negotiation skills.
