JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provide first- level support with regard to information technology (IT) and information assurance (IA) requirements and security of information systems.
- Provide contact and problem resolution for users with hardware, software and applications problems. This includes telephone technical support as well as field dispatch.
- Resolve as many user-reported problems as expertise permits using available tools and following command procedures and policies.
- Provide PC computer compliance and technical support for Windows 7, Windows Server 2003/2008, software and peripherals and support maintenance of internal custom applications.
- Routine hardware set up, troubleshooting and replacement; software installation and evaluation; and use of various spreadsheet, word processing and database application programs.
- Perform virus detection and cleaning.
- Routine research and implementation of compliance solutions in strict accordance with established guidelines.
- Provide accurate and timely logging of support requests and resolutions in the iET Solutions HelpDesk application, which is the primary tracking tool for all forms of technical support at Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Newport.

Qualifications

:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- A valid High School diploma or GED and 2+ years of technical training and/or experience.
- An active US DOD Secret Clearance is required.
- Tasking-Imaging Machines, Troubleshoot Software Remotely and Customer Desktop support.
- A Security+ CE certification is required prior to starting.
- A Microsoft Windows 7 certification is required prior to starting.
