Program Manager with Space Experience (Job Number:418122)
SAIC is seeking a highly qualified Program Manager (PM) to lead an engineering services support contract in Greenbelt, MD. This multidiscipline engineering effort will support NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) mission. The PM will be the single representative responsible for program performance, services and deliverables under the task order contract and will serve as the primary liaison between the customer and SAIC. The PM must be responsive to the Customer for the business needs of the contract. As SAIC’s authorized representative, the PM is expected to be available to discuss program progress, reviews, attend meetings, etc. with Government management within a single business day and without the necessity for travel.
The candidate will be responsible for managing a large team of engineering professionals and support staff providing onsite/offsite support to GSFC. The technical work on the contract provides multidiscipline engineering expertise to both GSFC in-house and out-of-house instrument and spacecraft programs (e.g. Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) and Space Servicing Capabilities Project (SSCP)). The scope of work includes technology development services and support for all NASA lifecycles phases from pre-formulation through operations plus related infrastructure services.
The candidate will work closely with the government Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), government technical leadership, and SAIC operational leadership. The PM duties include managing all aspects of the program performance from initiation to closeout; business relationship management, meeting technical, schedule and financial requirements; directing and/or supervising personnel; risk management; subcontractor oversight; and serve as a direct liaison between the SAIC technical team and customer. The Program Manager is expected to champion the implementation of service management best practices and foster an environment of consistent execution and continual improvement.
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 10 years of program management overseeing technical programs.
Proven experience managing a $100M+ program and/or 150+ people.
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience managing multidiscipline engineering teams, from small to very large project groups, through complex concepts/issues preferably within NASA or GSFC.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks and teams; demonstrated ability to coordinate individuals and groups to meet performance baselines.
Able to pass National Agency Check with Investigation (NACI).
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate.
Master’s degree in related field.
Current or previous Secret clearance.
