Position Description
Synopsis: The overall goal of the Operational Environment Training Support Center (OE TSC) facilitates and acts as the principal enabler for continuous learning across all TRADOC lines of effort through acquiring, analyzing, creating, organizing, applying and transferring data, information, and knowledge in the context of current and future operations. The OE TSC is responsible for coordinating the training of deploying units on joint, national and interagency information, emerging asymmetric capabilities gleaned from world-wide operations; integrating processes, practices, concepts and materiel capabilities into Joint and Service DOTMLPF solutions; and coordinating with the training centers to provide realistic enemy and environmental signatures into models and simulations in support of realistic training. Position is located in Newport News, Virginia. Your future duties and responsibilities
Basic Functions: The OE TSC Gaming and Visualizations Branch (GVB) provides 3d visualizations and dynamic scenarios replicating the operational environments encountered by Department of Defense personnel. These products are used throughout the individual, collective, and institutional training bases. The videographer?s primary duty will be producing OE TSC GVB videos. This includes QA of video products, reviewing scripts, and assisting the OE TSC GVB Scenario Developers in the conception, development, and production of visualizations of the operational environment. The OE TSC Videographer documents and produces educational and multi-media projects for the OE TSC. The videographer utilizes video production skills including, but not limited to, shooting (in-simulation capture), directing, producing, script writing, graphic design, sound design/recording and editing. The videographer also makes recommendations for future software and video production equipment to be purchased to further increase the training capabilities of OE TSC GVB videos produced. Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Possession of a Bachelor's degree in a field related to Mass Communications, Journalism, or Communications.
5 years experience in video production and editing, using all formats, and television graphic design
1 year experience with exporting video to handheld devices.
Considerable knowledge and ability to use video production equipment, and software including linear and non-linear editing (Adobe Premier, etc).
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively both orally and in writing.
3 years experience writing and editing scripts for video production.
Ability to record and edit sound files and edit sound effects into video production.
Ability to work independently, set priorities and communicate priorities to individuals.
Ability to provide accurate and constructive recommendations to improve videos and scripts produced.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively is required (25%). Work week may include shifts and weekends. US Passport required.
OIF/OEF experience preferred
Secret clearance is required. Must be eligible for TS/SCI.
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
