Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Systems Administrator join our team to provide unparalleled support to our customer in the Bethesda, MD area and begin an exciting and rewarding career within ManTech. The selected individual will provide Subject Matter Expertise for the engineering, design, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the Windows and Linux server infrastructure, the VMware vSphere environment to migrate from a physical to virtual infrastructure, as well as recommend solutions to meet other existing and future requirements while remaining compliant with the required security accreditation standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provision and maintain secure RHEL and Microsoft Windows Servers
  • Supports physical and virtual servers of multi-tiered HA/Clustered applications and databases
  • Manage virtual servers through VMware vCenter
  • Implement High Availability, Database Availability Groups (DAG) and Active Directory Failover
  • Implement clear and concise Group Policy Objects (GPO)
  • Implement and maintain backup/disaster recovery solutions for guest servers and associated data
  • Perform system management using Symantec ITMS and Red Hat Satellite Server
  • Perform task automation through the creation of scripts
  • Knowledge and understanding of a range of computer and networking software and hardware systems and related technologies
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and identify and resolve technical design issues
  • Collaborate with client, server and other internal/external teams to identify support and technology advancements
  • Produce clear and concise documents and diagrams capturing networking and operational procedures and LAN/WAN topology using MS Visio, MS Project, MS Excel and MS Word
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting and complex problem resolution on escalated issues
  • Isolate enterprise level problems and coordinating resolutions while keeping senior management apprised of status changes
  • Remain abreast of technology advancements for future software and hardware implementations
  • Provide planning, technical expertise, and direction regarding computer and network services for both local and wide area networks, serves as a high-level technical expert in regards to computer/network systems and associated issues
  • Installs, configures, and maintains computer and network operating system and application software, as appropriate
  • Maintain a broad knowledge of current and emerging state-of-the-art computer/network system technologies, architectures, and products
  • Provide on-call support for computer/network systems as required. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent industry qualifications and 5-8 years of related experience
  • Working experience with configuring and deploying Microsoft Windows servers using Windows Deployment Services or VMware templates and leading a team of engineers in monitoring and maintaining the customer's systems infrastructure
  • Working experience with configuring and deploying RHEL servers using a kickstart server or VMware templates
  • Experience with application performance and latency problems from front, middle and back end
  • Working experience with Windows Server 2008/2012 and RHEL 5/6
  • Working experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NTP, IIS, and Apache HTTP Server
  • Experience implementing and supporting enterprise system monitoring tools
  • Experience performing system hardening through GPO and scripts
  • Solid network and systems troubleshooting experience with TCP/IP, Internet security, encryption
  • Ability to analyze and assess computer/network architecture requirements and determine optimum, cost-effective solutions
  • Knowledge of computer security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques to meet qualification of DoD 8570.01M CAT II IAT
  • Security+ (Required)
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) (Desired)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Windows Server 2008 (MCSA) (Desired)
  • VMware Certified Professional 5 (VCP) (Desired)

Security Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD TS/SCI clearance based upon a SSBI completed within the last 5 years with the ability to pass CI Polygraph.
