Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Amazon Webservices Administrator (AWS) to join our team in the Reston, VA area to provide unparalleled support to our customer and to begin an exciting and rewarding career within ManTech.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead a team of professionals migrating to Amazon web Services environments
  • Responsible for installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of AWS environments supporting client production as well as test and development environments
  • Responsible for maintaining production environment and participating in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure
  • Primary responsibilities include AWS administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and administration in support of approximately 400 end users
  • Maintain data files and control procedures for a complex system of networked computers or for a single group of microcomputers linked to a host workstation, or mainframe
  • Responsible for system security and data integrity
  • Assigns passwords and monitors use of resources, backs up files as required and works with management to define requests for information
  • Provides technical guidance to lesser-experienced systems administrators

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree and seven or more years of experience
  • OJT Experience working with AWS
  • OJT experience working with Redhat Linux (Centos and Scientific Linux also count)
  • Experience with any scripting language (Ruby, Python, Perl, PHP, etc. Will also accept “mature” languages like Java, C++, etc though the scripting languages are most important
  • System monitoring experience, anything from Big Brother, HP Openview, Nagios
  • Network monitoring and auditing experience (TCPdump (or Ethereal, Nessus, NMAP, etc)
  • System management experience (Puppet, Saltstack, or Chef)
  • Minor network experience (IPTables, Linux Firewall, Bind DNS Server, Apache web server)
  • Ticketing systems that allow you to work/get accounts on site
  • Security+
  • Excellent customer service, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
  • Minor development experience (GIT, Subversion, RPM builder) preferred
  • AWS architect/developer certification or CCNA certification preferred
  • VMWare or other virtualization experience (Xen, HyperV) preferred
  • Openstack experience (for creating secure clouds) preferred
  • Experience with MongoDB preferred
  • Experience with Tomcat and/or JBOSS (or Wildfly) preferred
