The Regional Director of Asset and Profit Protection (RDAP) provides disciplined leadership to the assigned Region for the purpose of supporting the national (SHC) AP Strategy. This position is responsible to staff, acclimate, and coach a team of Market/Zone Leaders. The RDAP must work collaboratively with the RVP and Regional Leadership Team to mitigate risks in stores and drive efficiency in operations to generate profit improvement (EBITDA). Such efforts will focus on assessing key market performance, providing training to market and store level management, determining solutions to problems, and working collaboratively to implement solutions. The RDAP also is involved in working with the Support Center AP Team to develop a National AP Strategy, establish goals, and manage complex projects cross-functionally to ensure programs/processes are in place to achieve performance.
Owns Profit Improvement results in the assigned Region through the development, implementation, and execution of the SHC National 5 Play Strategy
Manages and achieves a budget performance of +$10MM In Payroll, $15MM in expense, and $2MM in Capital(Capital and Break-Fix)
Performs supervisory responsibilities, including, but not limited to: making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting, terminating, conducting performance improvement plans, coaching, training, and developing associates
Conducts assessments, develops, and implements action plans to improve performance.
Works Collaboratively with RVP, Regional Support, and Market Leaders to ensure plans meet needs of Members and overall Business. High focus on sales, shrink, worker's compensation, and general liability expense, cash loss, chargeback expense, margin outliers, labor, and SG&A
Leads and embeds the Asset & Profit Protection Five Play Strategy, and drives AP plans and projects using common tools, processes, and language (Portal, Metrics, Shrink Profit / VPC and Safety results)
Directly leads the backroom functions related to Credit & Returns Processing for the Region
Manages Projects to impact performance across the platform in support of the National (SHC) 5 Play Strategy
Works with the store teams to identify and react to out of stocks, known stolen, and other operational data to mitigate profit impact.
Demonstrates courageous leadership by identifying and communicating potential ethical or safety issues that must be addressed at a higher level
Ensures proper execution, follow-up, and analysis of the results of required inventories, inspections, and audits
Manages the training, detection, investigation and successful resolution of all internal investigations within assigned Region
Serves as an advocate to ensure members and associates have a safe environment to shop and work in (OSHA requirements and general liability adherence)
Reviews safety and food safety inspections (Kmart/Essentials/Grand) on a regular basis (as needed in FLS) and ensures the timely and accurate reporting of results and assists in the development and implementation of corrective actions
Builds a strong bench of talent and strives to develop people for internal promotion via a structured and disciplined succession planning and development program
Supports the AP Learning and Development program by determining individual training opportunities within the assigned region and larger AP organization
Inspects the standardized Asset & Profit Protection operating model for consistency across Regions, Districts, and stores
Ensures accurate and timely report writing, record keeping, and retention of evidence by conducting periodic reviews during store visits and occasional audits as needed
Ensures the proper operation and repairs of alarm, Electronic Article Surveillance, and Closed Circuit Television equipment
Manages and ensures timely and complete reporting of critical incidents in assigned area of responsibility
Acts as lead Field representative for crisis and emergency situations, provides updates and direction to mitigate impact of natural and man-made events on SHC facilities and people
Serves a Field liaison to corporate office, Law Enforcement, and other Governmental agencies. Provides counsel and practical consideration for new process, program, and strategic rollouts for the end Field users.
Ensures compliance with merchandise protection standards to enhance the member shopping experience, develops suggestions and partners with Corporate teams as appropriate
Considers costs, benefits, risks, implications, and impact when making and implementing Asset & Profit Protection strategies and tactics
