As the Systems Engineer, you will provide functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software operating systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • The contract support personnel shall provide system engineering support to the XML Data Standards ESIS group.
  • Preferred to have Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with: Web Services (WSDL, SOAP, WS-*), UML, XML, W3C, XML Schema, XSLT, XPath.
  • Demonstrated experience with multiple operating systems, such as: Linux, MS Windows, Unix (HP-UX, SunOS)
  • Knowledge of multiple national data exchange models, such as: NIEM, LEXS, GFIPM, GJXDM.
  • The Engineer shall utilize XML and XSL skills to produce NIEM-conformant Information Exchange Package Documentation (IEPDs), style sheets as required, and troubleshoot and rectify reported problems in test and production systems.
  • The Engineer shall produce and utilize scripting tools as required, using languages including, but not limited to, Perl, Linux shell scripts and XSL.
  • The Engineer shall have experience in producing IEPD XML schemas, XML sample instances, catalogs, change logs, Master Documentation, CMW spreadsheets, code list spreadsheets, high level model, association and sequence diagrams, and IEPD distribution packages.
  • The Engineer shall possess demonstrated experience and understanding of the NIEM and LEXS specifications, including major features and capabilities.
  • The Engineer shall support various messaging protocols, such as REST and SOAP, including support for creating and modifying WSDL files.
  • The Engineer shall have experience working with development staff creating and testing XML instances.
  • The Engineer shall have demonstrated experience in the development of high level documentation, as well as detailed implementer-focused documentation
  • The Engineer shall have demonstrated experience in working with a customer to support a very fluid development cycle and to be able to determine and coordinate adjustments to priorities and schedules of other tasks already in progress or scheduled.
  • The Engineer shall provide technical assistance to ensure correct and consistent implementation of the specification to facilitate interoperability. This technical assistance may include, but is not limited to, code samples, documentation, phone/email support, and briefings.

Position Requirements:
• 5 - 7 years of directly related work experience
• Experience with FBI CJIS SOSSS a major plus

Security Requirements: U.S. Citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance required.
