Currently ManTech is seeking for a talented, motivated Principal Systems Engineer to be a performer on a small team, gathering requirements, designing and implementing a secure virtualized information system solution for a Program Office operating out of Joint Bolling-Anacostia Base (JBAB).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ensures that INFOSEC requirements are analyzed, design cyber security solutions and effectively implement the solutions into information systems.
Designs, develops, and engineers secure system solutions in line with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Utilizes INFOSEC best practices to ensure secure solutions are integrated within all of aspects of project operations.
Performs all levels of system security engineering within the SDLC
Conducts security requirements analysis and security engineering for complex systems
Engineers security solutions in accordance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-53; identifies solutions to POA&M deficiencies and recommends timelines for executing these solutions
Serves as senior security advisor for technical issues related to information assurance auditing tools, vulnerability management solutions, and continuous monitoring capabilities
Participates as technical security representative within the change management process and works with Information Assurance team to assess security impact of any proposed changes
Creates and maintains technical documentation that maps to the RMF SCTM Controls and System Security Plan
Ensures system security engineering solutions are implemented within agreed-upon project schedule milestone deadlines
Bachelor’s degree in field of system engineering, computer science, information assurance, or related field with 7-9 years related experience; or Master’s degree with related experience
Relevant Windows experience and virtual computing experience (related certifications preferred)
Strong security engineering background with experience in Windows 7/8/10, Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory, SQL, networking, VMware VSphere, and auditing
Requires expert technical knowledge and ability to map customer requirements to functional security requirements
Experience with RMF process, IA tools, STIGS, and SCTM control mapping
Security + CE, and DoD 8570 certification, IASAE level II
ITIL v3.0 or Foundation certifications strong desired
Must possess excellent analytical skills and requirements gathering security engineering background
Must be willing to travel between sites weekly within the Washington DC metropolitan area CONUS travel < 10% per year
Security Requirements: US Citizenship required and active TS/SCI clearance.
