The staff modeler (designer) is responsible for developing a comprehensive and functionally and dimensionally accurate physical layout of the system based on the engineering design, specifications, and materials and equipment submittals to meet the project needs and M.C.Dean's constructability objectives. 

Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the review and analysis of the electrical design drawings, specifications and submittals;
  • Apply MCDean design standards and develop pathway layout to achieve efficient installation;
  • Optimize equipment layout;
  • Participate in or lead the design coordination process with other trades, address design deficiency and conflicts;
  • Produce of drawings to support field requirement;
  • Develop, maintain, and manage work breakdown, estimates, and schedules;
  • Mentor and supervise a team of designers working on a particular project, manage work assignments, assure quality of the work product;
  • Manage project documentation;
  • Support field and fabrication teams in coordination and optimization issues;

    Essential knowledge and skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and related concepts;
  • In-depth knowledge of the field installation best practices
  • Advanced knowledge of critical design software 
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Autodesk Navisworks
    • Autodesk AutoCAD
    • BlueBeam
    • MS Office
  • Fundamental knowledge of project management concepts and practices;?

?          Experience:

  • Field experience with electrical installations is strongly desired;
  • Design experience with the listed tools is strongly required;
  • 5-7 years of experience in electrical design;

  • Commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Certifications, licenses:                                                                        

  1. Journeyman or master electrician qualification strongly desired.??
