TsiCorp is accepting submission for a Medical Records Technician for our client the Nevada National Guard (NVANG) in Reno. This assignment is from August 29, 2016 through September 29, 2016. The work schedule is 0730-1600 on Monday and 0730-1700 Tuesday – Friday. There is no overtime on this assignment. Benefits include paid holidays and two weeks vacation after one year of service.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Maintain the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) information management systems utilized for aerospace medicine and force health protection programs
• Update physical examination data in required information management systems
• Action record requests for documents are filed in the AHLTA Electronic Medical Records Program within established suspense
• Provide continuing education and training updates, as needed, to all personnel who shall use the AHLTA Electronic Medical Records Program to ensure members are trained to successfully utilize the system. Initial training for personnel is accomplished at Active Duty MTF
• Create, maintain, and process medical records for current members
• Create medical records for new accessions within two weeks of receiving the enlistment order
• Maintain the Reserve Component Periodic Health Assessment (RCPHA) Program
• Performs quality assurance studies/reviews
• Perform quality assurance checks on in-coming medical/dental records
• Conduct annual medical/dental record reviews
• Compile and complete special and recurring reports for the Medical Group, Wing, and National Guard Bureau
• Maintain seasonal training opportunities for members completing technical school
• Privacy Act of 1974, and must be familiar with the proper management of this type of information
• Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and must be familiar with the proper management of this type of information and will certify through the RC CBT Module
• Other duties as outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) associated with this assignment
Requirements:
• Must be able to clear a background investigation
• Complete anti terrorism training within 30 days of employment
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Basic knowledge of standard office procedures and the ability to interpret general instruction
• Knowledge and experience needed to use Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Skill with various software programs to maintain database files and prepare reports
