SAIC is building a team to provide Enterprise Information Technology (IT) Solutions Sustainment support and the associated management and administration for the delivery of a combination of hardware infrastructure and application infrastructure necessary to achieve a complete, centralized, and elastic environment for Building, Hosting, Integrating, and Managing Web enabled applications and/or application services. This is accomplished by using innovative software and hardware tools utilized to enhance information technologies. By integrating different technologies to include both the re-write of legacy systems and the addition of features to existing systems to maximize cost savings, resource utilization and provide a solution to unique Army application's hosting and management challenges. The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of a team of Mechanical Engineers, systems engineers, hardware technicians, and field service technicians, software engineers, systems administrators, database administrators/architects, network engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SME). The Mechanical Engineer’s duties include executing trade-off studies, system engineering plans, effectiveness analyses, risk management, configuration management, interface management, data management, performance measurements, technical reviews, requirements analysis, engineering analysis of hardware/software configuration, size weight power and cooling (SWAP-C) analysis, and functional analysis in support of integration of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems, Signal Intelligence (SIGINT), Human Intelligence (HUMMINT) Systems onto military platforms. The Engineer will provide technical guidance and advisory assistance in support of engineering team development efforts to attend and execute Army War fighting Assessments (AWA) and Network Integrated Evaluations (NIE).


Responsible for Production Control to manage all engineering, configuration, demod, and integration technical process(es)

Develop detailed vehicle check out procedures with the C4ISR and QC leads

Provide engineering expertise to identify and/or resolve root cause technical inspection, demod, integration, check out, and material design and manufacturing specification deficiencies via an Issue Report (IR) process

Provide engineering oversight during Technical Inspection (TI), C4ISR integration, check out, QC, and final Gov’t QA

Coordinate with the Gov’t/ counterparts

Reconcile discrepancies

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require filing, typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to: bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institute

Minimum 14 years’ Mechanical Engineering experience

Minimum 4 years’ experience with Army War fighting Assessment (AWA) / Network Integration Event (NIE) selection, architecture development, scenario development process

Basic Qualifications:

Possesses strong analytical skills and have good interpersonal and communications skills in dealing with multiple contractor and government organizations

Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently, but also within a team

Must be able to learn quickly in a highly technical, fast paced environment.

Flawless history in creating, handling and marking classified materials in and around controlled facilities

Must have strong written and verbal skills

Clearance Requirement:

Must currently possess Top Secret/SCI Clearance and be able to obtain a TS SCI w/ CI Poly
