SAIC is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer to become a member of the Training Development team, based in Huntsville, AL. This position is contingent upon conract award.

Using instructional design methodology and tools, this position will develop small to large-size instructional design projects, to support our customer’s training needs. The Instructional Systems Designer will work collaboratively with subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to create and deliver effective classroom, web based, virtual and blended learning solutions. Position requires: strong collaboration and partnerships with internal stakeholders as well as with external vendors, ability to organize/prioritize against learning initiatives and have excellent project management skills. We are looking for candidates that have a true passion to deliver high quality products to the business in an effort to improve end user knowledge and performance.

Major Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Analysis:
- Gather requirements of instructional design projects to determine needs, content, and outcomes
•Document needs analysis and formulate training design strategies based on requirements gathered. Obtain approval from key stakeholders
•Create project plan and ensure project plan is delivered on schedule and within scope
•Determine appropriate representation for project team reviews and communicate regularly and effectively to the team and key stakeholders on status updates

Design and Development:
- Use instructional technology and media tools to design and develop engaging learning content/tools to include: instructor and participant materials for instructor led, virtual classroom, and web based training environments as well as storyboards, video scripts, job aids, and evaluation criteria
•Partner with outside vendors, when necessary, to support instructional design requirements
•Develop and maintain course templates and procedures to ensure quality and consistency
•Prepare content for upload into a Learning Management System (LMS)
•Partner with internal functional departments to conduct QA testing on beta and final product deliveries

Implement and Evaluate:
- Execute final product in production environment
•Participate in continuous improvement efforts by offering ideas and creative solutions to improve solutions, processes and tools
•Monitor and evaluate feedback of content/tools developed and implement improvements where positive impact can be gained

Basic Education, Skills and Experience

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Instructional Systems Technology or related field.

- Active Secret Clearance

- In addition to educational requirement, a minimum of 6 years of related experience

- Experience in applying instructional design and adult learning principles in training/e-learning

- Exceptional communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong industry knowledge of technology in the field
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects timely, and adhere to deadlines and project plans effectively
- Ability to problem solve by trial and error or using various avenues to research problems to get to resolution
- Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite particularly PowerPoint
- Advanced level proficiency in developing e-learning using Articulate Storyline, Articulate Studio, and the ability to learn new software packages quickly
