Engineering Opportunities with the KSC SMASS-III Contract (Job Number:421785)
SAIC is seeking highly qualified incumbent personnel and Engineer candidates to support the KSC Safety Directorate on the KSC SMASS-III contract. This SMA engineering support may include safety, quality, mission assurance, software safety, or reliability engineering. Support crosses multiple Programs, Projects, and disciplines to assure all SMA issues and concerns are identified and addressed. Work includes technical assessments, reviews, and support for KSC, Programs and Projects boards, panels, operations, and launch activities. Support includes interfacing with all organizations (internal and external) required to support overall SMA coordination and policy development. Tasks are driven by launch schedules, external requirements, and unforeseen SMA issues that may arise at any time.
The SMA Engineer will be responsible for technical assessments, reviews, and SMA support for KSC, NASA Programs (LSP, GSDO, SLS, Orion, etc) and Projects’ boards, panels, operations, and pre- and post-launch activities. Support includes interfacing with all organizations (internal and external) required to support overall SMA coordination and policy development. The SMA Engineer will conduct safety/quality analyses and assessments of selected design, testing, operational, or flow processing issues involving safety requirements and prepare reports of findings. Assessments include hazard analyses, fault trees, failure modes and effect analyzes (FEMA), probabilistic risk assessments (PRA), and hazard reports. Support may also include providing safety expertise and technical support to selected investigation or mishap boards.
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or science or a related technical field.
Minimum of 1-6 years of relevant SMA experience.
Able to pass National Agency Check with Investigation (NACI).
