We are currently searching for an Systems Engineer - New Grad to take on major design responsibilities in the development of fly-by-wire and automatic flight control systems for the next generation of business, regional, military and air-transport aircraft. This position is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A comprehensive relocation package is available for qualified candidates.
Rockwell Collins Flight Control Systems have been flying and landing airplanes for over 30 years. Our customer base is a who's who of aircraft manufacturers. These industry leaders demand systems which satisfy the highest levels of criticality at the lowest cost possible. This dichotomy provides a continuous challenge to our engineering team to employ new technology and methodologies in the development of our complex systems.
System engineering duties will span the entire product lifecycle, from system design through system testing.
•Develop control algorithms and signal processing for flight control systems. This includes flight guidance, autothrottle, and attitude control systems for Business and Regional aircraft
•Define and review system requirements for automatic flight control systems or fly-by-wire systems including functional requirements and interface requirements
•Develop models and simulation tools for various types of closed loop systems to assess performance
•Conduct system verification and testing of the control algorithms, fly-by-wire, and flight control system functional requirements and interface requirements.
* A Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM program including Computer Science OR other bachelor degree in a STEM program (including Computer Science) that included 12 semester (or 18 quarter) credit hours in mathematics, including differential and integral calculus and applied mathematics and 10 semester (or 15 quarter) credit hours in natural science (biology, chemistry, earth sciences) including physics is required.
* Must have US citizenship or permanent residence (greencard)
* Must have a 3.5 GPA or higher
* Must have experience in MetLab
* Must have taken at least 1 class in Control Systems
