Position Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for influencing and leading IT teams, business units, vendors, and consultants in the full life-cycle of cross-functional projects. This associate will manage all phases of multiple concurrent medium to large-scale projects from concept to implementation. This will include participating in the budgeting process, overseeing requirements gathering sessions, product development, and implementation. The associate will also have direct responsibility for scheduling meetings, producing status updates and measuring post production metrics. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for guiding project team members, removing obstacles, gaining consensus from the project team and stakeholders, and providing positive and developmental feedback to team members’ direct managers. This associate proactively seeks to improve processes, procedures, tools, and methodology. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for anticipating change and championing systems and processes to align with any change. This associate will play a role in training and developing Project Managers on the approach and skills needed for their duties.
• Lead cross-functional project teams that include business units, IT teams, creative teams, vendors, and consultants through all phases of the project life cycle
• Responsible for facilitating requirements gathering for technology solutions, and effectively guiding resources to achieve goals
• Responsible for adhering to the current project management methodology while influencing best practices, process improvements, and procedures
• Oversee team members in the execution of project management activities to ensure quality
• Create and manage a realistic, detailed plan to ensure medium to large-scale projects are executed on time, on budget, and in scope
• Serve as a primary problem solver for any issues, roadblocks, and risks; maintaining responsibility for their resolution
• Effectively create and deliver presentations and reports to management team, communicating project status
• Drive the decision making process amongst stakeholders, ensuring project needs and solution options are presented and understood
• Anticipate and communicate horizontal impacts caused by project implementation
• Train and mentor others in managing multiple large projects simultaneously

• Ability to communicate with and influence a variety of audiences including IT developers, business analysts, business partners, stakeholders, and senior management
• Must have strong cross-functional teamwork skills
• Ability to observe business situations, recognize roadblocks, and deliver solutions
• Ability to influence and indirectly manage team members to meet project deliverables
• Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and projects while consistently meeting deadlines with accuracy
• Ability to lead, partner with and challenge peer groups
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills; able to identify areas of improvement and make sound recommendations to solve problems

• Effective at handling multiple concurrent large projects
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, and proceed on own good judgment

• 5+ years of project management experience, required
• Experience with technology development or a strong working knowledge of the development life cycle and general programming principles
• BA or BS in related field, preferred
• Experience leading projects of medium to large scope, size and duration (e.g. system/platform conversions, process overhaul)
• Experience with both waterfall and agile practices, strongly preferred
• Project Management certification (PMP, Agile Certification), strongly preferred
