This position is located in Richardson, TX. A comprehensive relocation package is available for qualified candidates.

Rockwell Collins is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Software Engineering position to support airborne platforms across multiple programs. The position will require the development of software via a wide variety of programming languages including but not limited to C, C , Ada, and Python. In addition, the assignment may require assisting in other elements of the software engineering lifecycle which including requirements analysis and capture, software requirements definition, code development, integration, and formal testing methods. The candidate will perform these assignments in conjunction with other system and software engineers using Rockwell Collins engineering processes.

Successful programs depend on teamwork grounded in internal communication as well as direct interaction with the end customer including presentations, technical exchanges, and on¬site support.

The candidate should be self-¬motivated and willing to work in a fast paced environment as part of a dynamic and growing subsystem development team. Additionally, the candidate should be experienced in all facets of system development and familiar with common system engineering tools and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the development of functional and interface specifications for hardware and software implementation.
• Create, capture, review, trace and modify requirements, applying the knowledge of processes, tools and methods in the management and tracking of requirements baseline..
• Identify the root cause of moderate to complex software issues and some systems issues using appropriate debug and analysis tools.
• Understand internal processes, methods and tools for systems development and documentation efforts.
• Demonstrate the ability to follow through on work assignments with little to no further prompting and raise any potential issues found to leadership.
• Create and run verification and validation tests for products and sub- systems of moderate complexity.
• Identify complex problems, reviews related information, and develop/evaluate options and solutions. Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential solutions to choose the most appropriate one.

Must Have Requirements:
• A Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM program including Computer Science OR other bachelor degree in a STEM program (including Computer Science) that included 12 semester (or 18 quarter) credit hours in mathematics, including differential and integral calculus and applied mathematics and 10 semester (or 15 quarter) credit hours in natural science (biology, chemistry, earth sciences) including physics is required.
• U.S Citizenship is required
• Current possession of / ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance is required
• Experience in software architecture, design and development using 3rd generation languages such as C, C , Ada and Python.
• Hands-on capabilities in both embedded systems and hosted application software development
• Demonstrated experience with real-time, multi-threaded embedded systems applications such as LynxOS and PowerPC architectures

Preferred experience/skills with any of the following:
• Experience with MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-661, ARINC-429 and Ethernet protocols
• Experience working with Subversion, DOORS, and/or Atlassian project management tools (JIRA, JAMA, Bamboo and Confluence)
• Demonstrated successful software development from requirements through verification
• Ability to successfully contribute in collaborative, cross-domain development environments and models (Waterfall, Spiral, Agile)
• Project planning and Earned Value management experience
• Experience in identifying, communicating and mitigating risks
• Excellent verbal/written communication and teamwork skills
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, works well with others
