The Electronic Technician I provides maintenance support for Real Time voice and data networks, RCS radio to include supporting infrastructure to the National Training Center mission in order to provide realistic joint and combined arms training focused on developing soldiers, leaders, and units of the United States Military for success on the 21st Century Battle Field.?
This position is a full-time, non-exempt, temporary position with a possibility of becoming permanent (as at-will employment.)
Work tasks typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising sound judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and computer control equipment.
Operate and maintain RCS TPS, TWP, and TMP.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all RCS Systems in a wide variety of military and commercial vehicles.
Perform customer service / help desk duties.
Captures timely and accurate maintenance history and records.
Maintain access and proficiency in automated maintenance systems (MAXIMO).
Operate and maintain proficiency in computer equipment such as computer access software / browsers, word / presentation software, and spreadsheets.
Uses Night Optical Devices (NOD) for movement during night and limited visibility.
Conducts equipment and supply inventories and maintains property accountability for all assigned equipment, supplies, and vehicles in accordance with established procedures.
Performs operator maintenance on commercial / military vehicles.
Supports quality/ISO, security and safety training programs.
May be tasked to perform at a very high level of competency tower climbing and rescue tasks after training and certification in accordance with specified OSHA regulations.
Adheres to Company, Site Manager, and Team Supervisor directives, memoranda, policies and procedures.
Support quality/ISO, security and training programs.Work performance and job tasks are reviewed by supervisor for general compliance and accepted practices.
Basic technical knowledge to resolve problems that are answered by referencing manuals or established written procedures.
Ability to perform duties and travel in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind) and at height (helicopter travel, mountain tops, elevated walk areas).
Ability to perform duties and travel using Night Optical Devices.
Must possess a valid Class C California drivers license and maintain NTC Post driving privileges.
SECRET Security Clearance
Within 90 days of hire, must complete a company driver’s certification course; be able to navigate in NTC's operational training area.
Must be able to read and understand manufacture’s manuals or technical documents.
Must be able to lift a maximum of 50lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must be flexible and willing to work irregular shifts, weekends, Holidays, and overtime.
Must possess or able to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance.
Must pass local, state, and national security checks in order to gain unrestricted access to Fort Irwin and work facilities.
Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of two years experience working as an Electronics Maintenance Technician or related position is highly desirable.
