NCI: As the Network Support Technician ( Network/Systems Administrator I ), you will provide expertise on multiple complex work assignments which may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. You will be required to operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems, as well as contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

Highlights of Responsibilities:


•Assist in the development, configuration, installation and maintenance of network systems to include the LAN/WAN for the purpose of providing input for present and future network modalities.
•Conduct analyses and testing of network systems for the purpose of documenting findings and ensuring efficiency and compliance with program requirements.
•Coordinate LAN installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for the purpose of evaluating components such as hubs, switches, and routers to achieve peak efficiency within the overall network connectivity.
•Coordinate the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting of IP telephony system including switches, servers and phones for the purpose of ensuring the system meets the requirements.
•Design and implement new network hardware infrastructures for the purpose of ensuring efficient network usage, security, and management.
•Identify malfunctioning hardware and/or software for the purpose of implementing necessary corrective actions, resolving technical problems and providing ongoing support to the team for the resolution of complex network/server issues.
•Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain network and application server hardware, network operating system software and peripheral network equipment for the purpose of providing access to local applications at main site.
•Maintain field service parts and network equipment inventories for the purpose of ensuring system continuity and life expectancy.
•Monitor LAN/WAN for the purpose of measuring performance and/or ensuring the secure and reliable operation of LANs.
•Provide cost analyses and purchasing recommendations for the purpose of ensuring objectives are achieved within budget.
•Provide technical assistance, customer service and training for new network systems for the purpose of ensuring the efficient use of network systems.


Requirements:


•Bachelors Degree or equivalent related experience.
•Secret Clearance.
•2-7 years experience.
•Comp-Tia Security Plus CE certification.
•Cisco CCNA within 6 months of hire.
•Working knowledge of enterprise Network environment.

Preferred Education and Experience:

•Cisco CCNA
