Reporting to the Senior Vice President – Insights & Analytics, this person will be a key player in helping ConAgra’s I&A team influence decisions with rigorous insights that drive results. Independently leads a wide range of investigative research activities to define CAG brands’ growth opportunities with regard to brand renovation, expansion, new products, and marketing strategy. Digs deep to uncover compelling consumer, category, and brand insights; ensures insights are leveraged in growth strategies, new products, and marketing plans.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Leads a team of insights professionals to influence and drive the organization’s decision making, including staffing, training, motivating, and developing the team.
This individual will establish himself/herself as a strategic business partner with Brand VPGM’s, R&D leaders and the Marketing team. This person must be able to translate insights and analytics into top and bottom line business impact.
This person needs to continuously raise the bar on insights capabilities and constantly be looking to where we need to go as a company – an insights visionary.
Drives an agile, analytically-driven approach to identifying and defining business opportunities for growth; develops learning plan, executes, analyzes, and communicates learning related to CAG brands’ present and future position in the marketplace.
Leads key strategic issue development to be addressed in annual operating and strategic business plan, serving as consumer expert and informed business partner.
Leads synthesis and communication of market and consumer trends; ensures relevant trends are acted upon in brand product and marketing strategies.
Identifies, develops and refines new/renovated products to support business growth.
Leads the sourcing, interpretation and application of marketplace and consumer learning to develop marketing strategy and refine activation for prioritized brands.
Drives introduction and adoption of a comprehensive range of research methodologies and suppliers, continuous improvement in techniques and cost, and seeks new tools to increase effectiveness.
Applies our portfolio segmentation principles with regard to resource allocation, investments and the types of engagements with the brands.
Maintains the prioritization of insights work and seamlessly handles the organization’s research needs with internal and external resources (e.g. contractors).
The successful candidate will be a proven insights & analytics executive demonstrating 15+ years of experience producing high quality, well-regarded insights & analytics work, preferably in the consumer packaged goods industry. Additional qualifications include demonstrated experience in the following areas:
Proven track record of delivering actionable business recommendations, influencing decisions, and impacting results
Strong priority management skills so to ensure insights resources are leveraged and applied to the most important business issues.
A proven record of turning insights into actions with our brands, marketing and R&D
Experience leading and developing a mid to large size team of insights professionals
A proven track record driving the ConAgra business model and influencing the matrix across brand, marketing and R&D
Strong knowledge of multiple insights tools and processes, both quantitative and qualitative
Experience working with multiple third party suppliers ensuring they are aligned to our key deliverables and they are driving impactful outcomes
Proven strong oral and written communication skills, especially the ability to explain difficult concepts and insights in simple, applicable business terms
