DAU Senior Instructional Systems Designer (Job Number:421437)
Candidate will work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyze and design courseware and curriculums to be delivered via classroom, computer-based training, eLearning environment, and Learning Management Systems (LMSs). Using the standard ISD (Instructional Systems Design) process, he/she will create training and assessment materials He/she will be responsible for conducting job and task analyses, determining appropriate learning strategies, creating storyboards, developing objectives and activities, and applying ISD strategies to the design of training courses. Some travel may be required.
Prepares training curricula utilizing development applications to be delivered via computer based training, eLearning environments and learning management systems. Conducts training analysis, designs and develops training curricula, designs and develop multimedia/web storyboards and training, and measures and evaluates effectiveness of training. Complete understanding and wide application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. Performs assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives. Administers company policies that directly affect employees. Recommends changes to team policies. P
BA or BS (4 years of experience in lieu of degree) in Education, Instructional Design, or related field strongly preferred; or equivalent training. Master’s degree desired.
Candidate must have at least 6 years of experience as an Instructional Designer or course developer. Demonstrated ability to use the ISD process to develop instructor led or multimedia based courseware in a deadline-driven setting. Demonstrated capability to apply basic grammar, punctuation, as well as sentence and paragraph structure. Demonstrated ability to conduct a front-end analysis, write objectives, and use various instructional methodologies in training design. Knowledge of adult learning strategies. Possess solid interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively in a team environment and lead small groups of Instructional Designers. Must have experience working successfully as part of a team. Expert user of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Experience with capture tools such as Captivate and authoring tools such as Lectora or Articulate.
