For the ACE Hardware account the National Account Manager is accountable for profitably growing assigned customer(s) for the Kenmore/Craftsman/DieHard (KCD) Brands Business Unit to achieve the assigned objective/plan - including sales, profit contribution as well as market share and sku assortment. The National Account Manager will be an integral part of a cross-functional team that ensures execution of the Kenmore-Craftsman-Diehard brands at Ace Hardware. The National Account Manager is responsible for delivering regular updates and milestone tracking for the implementation of initiatives to the KCD Brands Management team.
Position reports directly to Director of Sales.
() Achieve sales plans; maximize appropriate profit contribution as well as realizing market share targets for assigned customer(s) through creating, selling, executing business plans.
() Provide category analysis and consumer insights to accounts as well as other category tools/consultation with Product Management teams.
() Develop, recommend and execute pricing and promotional strategies. Develop effective merchandising and support materials to extend the reach of the brand message.
() Develop, recommend and present new items and programs to retailer(s) to drive incremental sales, store presence and assortment.
() Function as account advocate and supply the voice of the customer and channel internally.
WE EXPECT from the candidate:
() 6-8 years of outside sales experience preferably with a manufacturer or vendor in the consumer durables market.
() Daily onsite participation in office activities in the Hoffman Estates headquarters. Not a remote or telecommute position.
() Experience in sales forecasting and supply chain management.
() Ability to work at multiple levels within the account from functional tasks to the Executive office across multiple categories.
Required Skills:
• Proven success with key national accounts with a consumer products company or leading durable goods company.
• Knowledge of the retail co-op market helpful.
• Position requires basic knowledge and skills in the following areas: Sales and Account Management Skills, P/L understanding, Supply Chain Management, Category Management and Retail Merchandising.
• Basic Computer software proficiency (MS Office suite; sales tracking tools).
• Ability to travel to attend trade shows and conduct product trainings.
• Must have proven organizational and business communication skills.
• Ideal candidate will have experience with durable lawn & garden or hardware tool categories and/or co-op hardware channel.
