Location: Green Bay, WI
Supervises the production process to ensure that all products are prepared according to kosher laws and standards. This position is responsible for all rabbinical procedures/responsibilities required for the Kosher Soak & Salt (S&S) requirements relating to the Hebrew National (HN) product line and all kosher raw materials that are processed for other HN customers. All HN S&S processing is completed by a third-party. This process and all procedures are under the direction and certification of K Meshulash/Triangle K-Rabbi Aryeh Ralbag and his designated staff. This position requires multi-functional collaboration with Triangle K, ConAgra (CAG) and the supplying operation. This position continually looks for ways to improve operating costs by minimizing labor and supply costs. Position is responsible for all required documentation and related correspondence as required by Triangle K, CAG and the outside supplier.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Comply with all company safety policies and procedures as well as complying with all OSHA rules and regulations.
Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming and hygiene, etc.
Check in all meat and ingredients entering and leaving the plant. Inspect all incoming raw materials to assure shipping containers are sealed correctly and verify they have been approved (signature required on each combo/box) by the “shipping” plants designated Rabbinical staff member.
Review supplying operation following daily setup to assure equipment/staff/supplies meet requirements as outlined by Triangle K and CAG-Supplier Quality.
Monitor all raw materials are “soaked” in water bath for 30 minutes.
Verify “salt procedures” are in place and thoroughly apply salt to all trim and muscle cuts.
Following transfer of “salted” raw materials to adjoining conveyor, verify “salt conveyor” is correctly timed and all meat stands and drains for a minimum of 60 minutes.
Monitor that all product is thoroughly rinsed “three” times prior to final grind.
Following final grind and transfer to combos/boxes, assure each container is sealed correctly and sign-off on required documentation prior to transfer to cooler for storage until required for final raw material processing.
Verify approved product moved from storage to final blend area. Following final blend, assure product is sealed correctly in shipping containers for distribution to CAG-Quincy, MI processing plant and/or other CAG customers. Document and provide appropriate documentation required to accompany shipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Must be a publicly acknowledged Orthodox Jew.
Must work away from home 3 + days per week, in accordance with production schedules.
Basic computer skills needed to complete necessary documentation, including the application of web-based tools.
