This role is responsible for developing and executing the global communications strategy for a newly formed and publicly traded company. This includes leading all aspects of Corporate Communications, including: employee communication, executive communication, media relations, financial communication, social/digital media, community affairs, issues/crisis management and reputation management.
Works closely with senior leaders, content experts, and key internal stakeholders to manage the communication objectives for the newly formed publicly traded company
Create, enhance, optimize and manage the appropriate mix of internal and external communications programs and channels to drive awareness and understanding of key messages, while ensuring local adaptability and relevancy
Develop key financial communications and interact regularly with financial media
Create and manage the development of internal and external communication materials and messages, ensuring the company’s message is appropriately communicated with stakeholders and audiences.
Build and develop a core team of communication professionals, as well as collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
Develop internal and external speeches and presentations for senior-level executives, including the CEO
Manage internal communications around change/transformation initiatives for the company, including strategic planning and influencing leaders within the company
Develop measurement system for internal and external communication, including quantitative and qualitative metrics
Oversee communication planning and execution of employee recognition, facility news, and local/plant community engagement
Provide communications counsel and support to cross functional partners (HR, supply chain, sales, etc.), as well as internal employee resource groups (ERGs)
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR or related field. Master’s preferred but not required.
12+ years of experience, including PR agency and corporate experience. Experience should span internal and external communication.
Experience developing communication strategies for large, global organizations with a variety of communication channels and events
Experience leading financial communication for large corporations, including quarterly earnings, annual reports, basic understanding of disclosure requirements and interaction with financial media
Experience developing a new Communications department and strategy to support the needs of the business with specific experience supporting large transformations requiring change communication
Experience leading and developing a lean/small team of Communications professionals with cross-functional partnerships
Experience developing communication strategies with measurable results
Strong business acumen, track record of working effectively with executives and managing a breadth of disciplines within the Communications profession.
Experience interacting with local, state and national media, including print, broadcast and social influencers.
