Performs routine Neurodiagnostic examinations for patients as directed, according to established standards and practices.

-Must have one year of direct patient care experience.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience
-May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for the experience requirements.

-Must have a current Heartsaver CPR course completion card within 90 days of hire and/or placement in job from one of the following:
oAmerican Heart Association
oAmerican Red Cross Rescuer
oMilitary Training Network.

Skills or Special Abilities:
-Must be able to learn EEG electrode application and basic recording techniques within three months of entry into job.
-Must be able to study EEG educational material independently and pass all associated skills checklists.
-Must learn to distinguish EEG abnormalities and learn appropriate response.
-Must learn to work with personal computers including word processing, spread sheets and databases.
-Must have good communication skills necessary in handling difficult and severely ill patients.
-Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
-Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
