Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored. Supervises group of workers engaged in lifting, transporting and loading materials for receiving, shipment or storage. Oversees the processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment. Schedules work for special and periodic inventories. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, schedules work for cycle counts, inventory and system maintenance. Utilizes CPS and all associated activities.
This position will be responsible for first, second, and third shift dry goods warehouse performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)
Supervise and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of products and the picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of accuracy. Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers ensuring that all product is properly counted and reflected in SAP accurately.
Safety, dock and light audits
PPE Audits and compliance
5S ownership driven to employee level
Daily warehouse audits including but not limited to straightening /squaring pallets storage – no leaning pallets/proper storage
Candidate will be responsible for leading a Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meeting
Ensure/Facilitate shift hand-offs
Shift huddle with hourly/union operators
KRONOS approval and accuracy including points management and corrective actions
Management and ordering of usage items by establishment of min/max quantities (items not HU managed that will need ordered/inventoried - ie labels, roll stock, corner posts, slip sheets, etc.)
Grisham Farms totes – inbound/inventory management
Ensure GMP Compliance by all employees
Manage all storage practices in compliance with SQF guidlines
CHEP Quality – sorting / staging
Training of warehouse practices across all three shifts
Facilitate Alchemy training
Yearly job classificatoin validations
3 year forklift certifications
FIFO and daily FIFO report
Drive Continuous Improvement
Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.
Participates in establishing work schedules. Ensures that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
Maintain SAP system accuracy and ensure the optimal utilization of space.
Use various special reports and queries to help better manage business and measure performance.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories.
All other duties as assigned by the Manager.
NOTICES AND REPORTING
Plant managers and supervisors are responsible to promptly notify the Plant Manager, Environmental Engineering and/or the General Counsel, Law Department of the following situations:
? Emergency release of materials;
? Notice of violations with permit conditions,
? Test results indicating non-compliance with permit,
? Permit renewal notification,
? Equipment malfunctions for environmental control systems,
? Public complaints related to environmental issues,
? Negotiations to resolve order or permit compliance,
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
KPI posting and recording
Assist in physical inventories
Supervises 10 hourly union operators
Supervises 1-2 salary non-exempt support personnel
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3 years experience in Distribution or warehousing related field
Minimum 2 years in manufacturing union environment preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Distribution Management or related field preferred
Distribution experience in Foods Distribution
Direct Distribution experience
Strong systems knowledge including SAP
LANGUAGE AND TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret data facts. Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret a variety of technical information in mathematical and/or narrative form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with good time management skills and flexibility.
