About the Position:
This position would be responsible to perform activities that support National Grid’s interconnection of customer distributed generation facilities. These activities would support areas such as, but not limited to, contract administration, net metering programs, various stakeholder reporting, project management, cost reconciliation, process improvement and on-going operational responsibilities for such facilities in accordance with applicable interconnection requirements involving FERC, ISO-NE, state regulatory and corporate tariffs and operating procedures.
At the higher levels this role will also design and implement procedures and policies within their area of work to improve the working of National Grid.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Act as a primary point of contact within Technical Sales and Engineering Support, for the accumulation and reporting of data, providing advice / guidance and support to relevant internal customers in order to ensure everyone is informed and aware of the underlying data so that business decisions can be made on a timely basis.
Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work within Technical Sales and Engineering Support is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes.
Enhance and maintain PEX Hubs.
Demonstrate proficiency with the tools and systems used to gather the information necessary to accumulate and organize the data we use into appropriate outputs.
Produce effective management information and reporting in order to provide insight on customers for more senior team members.
Monitor and review work financial information, updating where necessary in order to identify any anomalies or discrepancies and ensure management has access to up-to-date and accurate information.
Develop relationships with key stakeholders within the Company (including: Legal, Policy, Operations, Planning, Order Fulfillment, Sales, Tax, Jurisdictions etc. in order to fully explain and support the implementation of National Grid policies and processes.
Develop a working understanding of the applicable regulations we operate under (example tariffs) in order to provide assistance to our internal customers in delivering the services to the ultimate customers.
Collate information and perform regular analyses at e.g. monitoring compliance statistics, in order to ensure more senior team members of the Sales & Program Operations have accurate and up to date information as required.
Prepare summaries of project costs (Examples: Construction projects or Energy Efficiency programs) and communicate back to stakeholders any relevant findings or recommendations.
Assist with updating department website.
Assist with customer outreach events
Assist with customer inquiries
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
·Bachelor's degree in a related area and 2 years of related experience, or equivalent work experience. An advanced degree/credits or professional certification is preferred.
·Knowledge of the electric and gas industry, construction,and/or distributed generation is highly desirable
·Basic understanding of key financial concepts such as taxation and net present value.
·Proficiency in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
·Experience with internal company systems (notably STORMS, Sharepoint, and CSS) is highly desirable.
·Knowledge of National Grid’s business operations, company policies and practices
·Knowledge of regulatory concepts and rate making is highly desirable
