Job Summary:


The Director Marketing is responsible for thought leadership in building the brand strategy for ConAgra Foods Canada ensuring alignment with the international and local business plans to ensure that brand objective meet and exceed plan objectives and key metrics.  They will serve as a member of the Canadian Leadership Team, whereby they will be responsible for total Canada results.  They will ensure the professional development of the brand teams and they will also be expected to build strong professional links with the U.S. and other International regions to ensure alignment and to discover opportunities to leverage.



Position Responsibilities:


  • Full brand P&L responsibility, budget management, and promotional spend
  • Achieve and/or over deliver on all financial objectives (top line, gross margin and bottom line)
  • Serve on the Canadian Leadership Team, enabling our Big Rocks strategy and driving our Head, Heart and Hand engagement results
  • Lead, manage, and develop key talent on the brand team
  • Plan and develop brand strategies for assigned pillars, selling through various distribution channels across Canada
  • Responsible for business planning, brand strategy and brand positioning
  • Drive innovative online and digital initiatives
  • Manage and develop trade promotions and category management initiatives
  • Execution of marketing programs (consumer and trade) to ensure growth of business within each channel
  • Drive, develop, and manage compelling marketing programs in collaboration with sales leadership
  • Build strong professional links with the U.S. brand/marketing organizations and other International regions to ensure alignment and to leverage resources, tools, and best practices



Position Qualifications:


  • Minimum 15 years of diversified business experience with a specialization in Brand/Marketing with a minimum of 7 years at a leadership level
  • Experience in Snack Categories in varying channels preferred
  • Individual that plays in the “O” (thinks organization first, and function second)
  • Proven results in margin expansion, utilizes the 4Ps to drive margin expansion (understands margin drives the revenue that can then be invested back into building the brand)
  • Should possess excellent strategic agility, experience managing strategic initiatives and deliverables, timelines and resources, while working effectively across functions
  • Will have a strong voice on the Canadian Leadership team, willing to provoke different points of view, challenge the status quo, push beyond the comfort zone
  • Strong bias for action and results oriented with a team first mentality
  • Demonstrated resilience and change management skills
  • Forward vision on consumer trends, marketplace dynamics, marketing communication, and digital media
  • Worked in a matrix environment with multiple manufacturing locations and a heavy SKU mix, preferably in food or at least CPG industry.
  • A passionate, high-energy leader with a proven track record in building and motivating a team to deliver best-in-class results, demonstrated ability to identify and develop top brand and marketing talent.
  • Ability to interpret research data, trends and insights, to draw conclusions, and to understand relevant implications for business
  • Ability to interact with senior leadership internally or externally, influence points of view without having direct authority, and work toward consensus
  • Self-starter with a proven record of developing and executing change in a complex environment.
  • Must be able to see the big picture while concurrently being able to dig into the details in order to ensure optimum business solutions, processes and systems.
  • Able to accept and deal with ambiguity.
