The Quality Intern provides Quality/Food Safety support in a variety of possible functions. During an internship, one or more of these functions will need to be performed.
Act in a support role for Operations and Platform Quality through direct plant process improvement projects. These projects are related to regulatory compliance, food safety systems, or product quality. ConAgra Foods plants are nation-wide and travel may be extensive.
Support Quality through data entry and analysis for Quality Systems evaluation and improvement.
Support plants, sales, technical services, etc through managing audit data and scheduling audits as directed.
Support the specification process through data entry, data verification, and gathering requested specifications.
Act in a support for plant sanitation improvement projects. In plant projects can occur in any plant nation-wide and often on 3rd shift.
Become trained and proficient in quality data analysis.
With training, support in-plant projects by working with plant associates to gather data
Follow safe work guidelines and proper GMP’s while working in plants.
Be able to work independently and be self motivated.
Food Science Curriculum
Third or fourth year undergraduate student or Graduate student
Completed coursework in food chemistry, food engineering, food nutrition, statistics, etc. preferred.
Previous Food Plant Experience a plus.
Exposure to contemporary business and technical challenges
Directed by professionals with extensive industry experience
Chance to personally drive projects, based on individual’s skill and interest level
Internships will be for an 11-week period from May through August, 2016.
Intern housing is provided and paid by ConAgra Foods.
