Job Summary: Responsible for making powder and seasoning blends, and for cleaning/sanitation of the associated manufacturing equipment and production areas.
Essential Job Functions:
Follow all GMP, Quality, and Safety policies; interpret and understand SDS safety warnings and pictograms; utilize safe and proper raw material handling techniques.
Retrieve set-up pallet(s) and deliver to the batching room(s).
Review the set-up pallet(s) to ensure all ingredients are present and in the correct quantities; compare the raw materials to the shop order paperwork; report any problems to the departmental Lead(s).
Add raw materials into blenders following proper handling and dispensing procedures; follow the order of addition sequence as written in the shop order.
Operate the blenders, screens, and sifters, and other production equipment; set-up and break down the equipment, and make necessary adjustments to equipment.
Complete the daily work schedule as directed by the department Lead(s) and report any delays to the Lead(s).
Complete all paperwork as directed by Team Lead(s)
Keep work place clean and organized
Ensure all products are produced in compliance with company standards and applicable laws.
Perform end of the day cleaning and sanitation of associated work areas and equipment according to company policies and procedures. Perform allergen change-overs and other in-process change-overs during the production day according to company policies and procedures.
Education/Experience / Skills
High School or equivalent preferred.
1 year experience in flavors or food plant operations; knowledge of weighing, pumping, dumping, pouring ingredients preferred
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English proficiently
Must be detailed oriented with a focus on safety, quality and accuracy of work
Must be able to perform basic math skills
Must be able to work as a team and multi-task
Overtime flexibility is preferred, including weekends as needed.
Forklift experience required; must be able to operate sit-down and stand-up lift trucks
Capable of lifting/moving up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis
Ability to deal with constant change
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time (8 – 10 hours)
Ability to make frequent bending and full body rotating movements and climb stairs safely
Requires tolerance of an environment of dust, powdery residues and chemical vapors
Requires cleaning and sanitation of associated work areas; must be able to utilize cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents, and wear applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Must be able to drive/operate a forklift and other powered industrial trucks
Requires, but not limited to, the ability to wear all respective safety gear including protective clothing, shoes, fitted respirators and comply with all safety standard and laws -- follow all PPE/Food Safety/OSHA Safety/Environmental SOP’s and checklists
