Configuration Management Specialist (Job Number:422529)


SAIC is looking for a Configuration Management Specialist in Vicksburg, MS, Stennis, MS, Dayton, OH, APG, MD and Maui, HI.

This candidate is responsible for product design changes and the effects of the overall system. Assist in documenting and tracking all aspects of system development and modifications. Ensures configuration identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness and proper authorizations. Prepares deviations and waivers for government approval when specifications cannot be met. Reviews all issued document change requests, document change notices and associated drawings for accuracy, completeness and proper signatures. May structure and maintain databases. Submits engineering changes to customers for review and approval; maintains records and submit reports regarding status. Prepares configuration verification audit record sheets for all programs. Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives.

This candidate is responsible for the following:

(a) Provides configuration management planning.
(b) Describes provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.
(c) Regulates the change process throughout the system lifecycle so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into hardware and software systems and related documentation.
(d) Manages configuration information using a configuration management database and definitive software library.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.

Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others.
