Job Summary The Purchasing Supervisor supervises activities related to the procurement of materials and supplies. Principal Accountabilities (Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Purchases and schedules materials, parts, equipment and supplies.
Ensures the processing of orders and communications with vendors regarding material and quantity requirement revisions, rates adjustments and incorrect materials.
Schedules orders in a timely manner that will meet production and maintenance requirements to assure continuity of operations at the lowest cost.
Assists in the establishment and administration of procurement and inventory objectives.
Provides guidance to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
Follows procedures and policies in analyzing situations or data to determine appropriate action.
Performs other duties as requested.

Effective decision-making and problem solving.
Good knowledge of PC software applications.
Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years of experience in related field can be substituted for each year of four (4) years of college.
Six (6) years progressively responsible purchasing experience.
Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Work is in normal office environment.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
