Position Summary:


The Global Mobility Specialist administers mobility programs and services supporting employee short- and long-term transfers, assignments, country entry, and domestic or international relocation. This position will advise managers on mobility policies and practices and manage individual employee case issues in line with global policy standards. Serves as the partner and point of contact for relocation and mobility support.


Key Responsibilities:

Program Design & Administration

  • Establish and administer company relocation and expat programs based on company goals and industry best practices
  • Create annual fiscal year budget and plan, monitor volume and spend, and prepare monthly management reports
  • Manage databases and personnel information to track relocation information, relevant international assignment information, and assignment costs and benefits


Work Authorizations & Compliance

  • Implement and administer short- or long-term international assignments, including immigration services
  • Coordinate a variety of administrative tasks to ensure compliance with government regulations associated with expatriates


Vendor Management

  • Manage the partnership with external vendors including contracts and billing. Ensure appropriate service levels are met to support of company goals.
  • Collaborate with procurement in conducting RFP’s for vendor evaluation and selection
  • Support the administration, invoicing, billing and recharging of costs for mobility benefits


Customer Service

  • Act as subject matter expert for global mobility and domestic relocation related activities by advising employees, internal partners, and external vendors on process, exceptions, and policy
  • Assist in communicating relocation and expatriate packages; answers questions and resolves escalated issues from employees
  • Facilitate collection of payback of relocation expenses after employee is terminated as well as report any collections to payroll for adjustment in reportable taxable expenses on W2’s


Organizational Partnerships

  • Maintain strong working relationships with Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Travel, Procurement, and Legal; keep business partners informed and appropriately involve them in the global mobility and relocation process
  • Assist recruiters with talent acquisition for positions that require relocation by reviewing policy benefits, coordinating area tours of potential destination with local real estate agents, providing pre decision home valuations to homeowners expressing concern about affordability of a potential move
  • Manage year-end tax gross up process and reporting of taxable expenses with relocation management firm and Payroll


Trends & External Benchmarking

  • Support external benchmarking exercises and network with other mobility management experts in order to ensure policy competitiveness, best-practice solutions and remain informed about market norms and common practices 
  • Monitor temporary housing options and city trends for all relocation employees including new hires, expats, and interns
  • Research home and host country tax regulations to ensure compliance



  • Manage leased corporate apartments by coordinating leases, rent and utility payments, apartment furnishings, cleaning service, etc.. Monitor monthly expenses, submit taxable expense report to payroll monthly and handle property management issues
  • Monitor home sale inventory and how it is marketed to assure a quick sale.
  • Performs other duties as requested



Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5  years of human resource experience
  • Experience in the field of global mobility, domestic relocation, or compensation preferred
  • Experience of working in an international company with matrix structures
  • International mindset
  • Ability to provide superior customer service to external and internal clients
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when reviewing requests for exceptions to policy
  • Ability to use tact when resolving potentially sensitive issues with employees and internal partners
  • Possess the capacity to effectively manage the relationship with service providers and vendors
  • Ability to gather and analyze/synthesize compensation related data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy as an integral part of the collective analysis/synthesis process
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Willingness to communicate with employees and international departments in different time zones
