Software Application Designer
CGI has an opportunity to join a growing team. As a software application Designer on the CGI Case Management team you will participate in and lead the design effort on a variety of projects in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Your role is to design and document application enhancements and features, assist with product and system architecture design and assist as necessary with customer demonstrations, discussions and sales efforts such as, but not limited to, developing responses to RFI and RFP documents.
You will work closely with the senior product architect, project managers, business analysts, and software engineers to develop new product offerings and improve existing ones.
Location: North America, eastern time zone
? Designing user interaction models, workflows and user interfaces
? Integrating internal and external product design into a cohesive user experience
? Creating prototypes and authoring detailed interaction and design specifications - functional, concept, proposal and/or technical, as required
? Translating usability and requirements into design improvements
? Working with the team to improve and refine product visual design and consistency
? Successfully communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale
Ability to be granted a Government of Canada Security Clearance.
? Minimum 1-5 years of experience participating in or leading large application design efforts
? Familiarity with web based application design principles
? Excellent user interaction design skills and high attention to detail
? Experience with database architectures and modelling and ability to assist with database designs as required
? Experience and familiarity with common software development technologies such as web services, SSO
? Experience with various reporting technologies such as Jasper Reports, Crystal Reports
? Experience with database migration/conversion, ETL, archiving and related topics
? System Architecture Experience
? Proven ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus
? Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
? Proven ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems
? Ability to work independently and collaboratively
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
? Excellent English language skills ? both spoken and written EDUCATION
