About the Position:
National Grid has embarked on a comprehensive Customer Experience Transformation program to fundamentally change how we interact, serve and communicate with our customers. This program consists of a series of customer driven process and technology projects whose goal is to enable new capabilities that will greatly improve National Grid’s customer experience. It will include replacing end of life digital platforms and delivering new levels of customer self-service and communication across multiple channels. One of the exciting projects will be the implementation of a new portal based on salesforce.com communities. This portal will provide a fully self service workflow for customers and contractors requesting new gas and electric connections across all National Grid territories. We are looking for a Salesforce Developer to join our team on this journey. The successful candidate will be a member of a team that develops complex workflows related to new gas and electric connections and deliver technical solutions to enable the new business processes. The team will be responsible for leading the design /build of the salesforce.com solution and develop complex integration to back end applications. The ideal candidate will have about year experience developing/enhancing applications in salesforce.com and have a passion for continuing to develop salesforce skills and grow with the team.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Develop and maintain salesforce.com pages using Visualforce and Apex.
Write and develop backend logic using Apex.
Define/develop integration between SF and other applications using SF APIs.
Build workflow rules with field updates.
Configure Email Alerts and Outbound Messages.
Configure/Maintain user security with roles and permission sets.
Design salesforce solutions based on business requirements.
Document system designs, process flows, interfaces, data requirement, UI and data migrations.
Work closely with project managers, technical leads, information architects, product managers, and other stakeholders.
Review technical design specs to assure consistency with functional and user requirements.
Help manage changes to baseline requirements through iterative development and conference room pilots.
Assure usability/completeness of proposed solution.
Ability assist users maximize productivity of applications and help them leverage existing framework to meet new requirements.
Knowledge & Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree preferred and 1+ years experience with application development in salesforce required.
Working experience with Apex classes and triggers.
Develop new force pages and maintain existing pages.
Create and execute unit test cases to assure full testing coverage and requirements are met.
Ability to incorporate JQUERY into force pages.
Knowledge of SQL.
Knowledge of salesforce triggers and the order of execution.
Experience with agile development methodologies.
Motivation to learn and grow with the team.
Strong technical skill and passion to deliver customer driven solutions.
Experience with Salesforce communities a plus.
