Helpdesk Specialist (Senior) (Job Number:422545)
SAIC is looking for a Helpdesk Specialist in Dayton, OH and APG, MD.
This candidate performs routine clerical duties, providing duplication and digital imaging services, and interfaces with the organization travelers and travel coordinators/counselors requiring limited knowledge of systems or procedures. Responsibilities include: writing, typing, or entering information into a computer, preparing correspondence, bills, statements, receipts, checks, or other documents, copying information from one record to another, proofreading records or forms, sorting and filing records, processing mail, answering calls, conveying messages, running errands, and making copies of documents. This position may also require of tasks relating to computer data entry of timecards, cost transfers, journal vouchers, and other documents. Ensures entries are accurate and complete. Full knowledge of the job. Complete acquaintance with and understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Supervision Received: Limited supervision. No instructions needed on routine work, and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.
This candidate is responsible for the following:
(a) Responds to and diagnoses problems through discussion with users.
(b) Ensures a timely process through which problems are controlled. Includes problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps.
(c) Supervises operation of help desk and serves as focal point for customer concerns.
(d) Provides support to end users on a variety of issues.
(e) Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.
(f) Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support.
(g) Documents, tracks, and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
(h) Provides second-tier support to end users for either PC, server, or mainframe applications or hardware.
(i) Interacts with other staff to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem.
(j) Simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
(k) Recommends systems modifications to reduce user problems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School and eleven (11) years or more related experience.
Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
