The Operations Support Specialist - is a Daily Operations position and is responsible for inventory management throughout the plant. This role will also develop and leverage SAP reporting tools to analyze and improve material usage variances in a continuous improvement environment. Additionally, this position will identify training opportunities and work closely with direct production personnel to develop standard practices as it applies to material usage reporting and variance improvement. This position will support all aspects of operations on the production floor and inventory stockroom. The normal work schedule will be Monday through Friday however the role will also be responsible to cover the last weekend of each period to help perform period close (a flex schedule will be developed in advance of these scheduled work days.)
Essential Job Functions:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)
Acts as a Plant-level SAP super-user to trouble-shoot issues with both internal and external resources; develops continuous improvement reporting tools; and trains team members.
Troubleshoots SAP issues and implements corrective actions through root cause analysis.
Responsible for SAP paper documentation and filing
Responsible for inventory management, including: receiving, shipping, reconciliation, cycle counts, physical inventories, Goods Received/Invoice Received (GR/IR) queue, and inventory reduction/optimization.
Responsible for process order management including: Creating, releasing, reviewing and closing process orders.
Identifies and retrieves parts (kitting) for preventative maintenance and rebuild activities
Ensures period close processes are completed in an effective and timely manner
Supports continuous improvement initiatives; supports Planned Maintenance Pillar activities as active PM Pillar Core Team member.
Champions stockroom 5S.
Operates within internal and external financial and accounting requirements including Sarbanes-Oxley.
Provides front desk support as necessary.
Provides back-up support for other Operations Support Specialists
Performs other daily routine requirements including reacting to area safety problems and communicating safety/quality/or procedural issues to proper departments or responsible parties
Assists with other related duties as requested.

Education and Experience Required:
Associate’s degree in business or related field or four (4) years experience in administrative/office duties, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Computer experience required including Microsoft applications (i.e. Windows, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
Two (2) years clerical experience preferably in a manufacturing environment (including filing, correspondence, telephone skills).
Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible with changing priorities
Good math skills.
Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze data.
Demonstrated positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize one’s own time consistent with the needs of the business

Two (2) years’experience with SAP and material inventories.
Must have the ability to become highly proficient at the following:
Understanding general safe practices and procedures as well as those specific to the area
Position works in a manufacturing environment. Job incumbent must be able to work in areas that are hot or cold, surfaces may be slippery, climb ladders/stairs, or work in tight quarters.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
The work environment is a production facility with moderate noise levels.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed
Employee is regularly required to lift up to 50 lbs.
