For this role, we are seeking a professional who enjoys a balance between technical design and managing and reviewing designs as well as contributing to the business development, proposals and tendering. As a Technical Permanent Way design professional this role will provide you with the opportunity to participate and shape the direction of rail projects and attraction of new opportunities.
Ideally, you will have worked on a broad range of projects small to large, come from a strong rail infrastructure design background within a consultancy and have a thorough understanding of what contributes to the success of a consultancy.
Delivery of major rail infrastructure projects and providing lead technical expertise in all aspects of permanent way design
Providing leadership and mentoring to your team
Leading business development opportunities; identify market trends, future opportunities and potential clients
Managing and reviewing designs
Applying technical expertise and industry knowledge to deliver the best solution that meets the client needs and achieves a high level of satisfaction
Participating in the project management, design management and/or technical lead roles on relevant projects
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
Be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
Extensive Victorian Railway experience including design and practical experience in an operating environment (Maintenance or Construction)
Previous experience in management or within a senior role ideally within a consultancy environment.
