Position Description
Senior Operator

CGI currently has an opening for a Senior Operator for a long term contract opportunity in the Ottawa area. The successful candidate will possess the following experience:

-3 years mainframe and server system monitoring experience

-3 years mainframe batch processing experience

-3 years IT supervision experience

-3 years incident identification, escalation and resolution experience

-3 years data center environmental experience

-Valid Federal Government Reliability Security Clearance

Additional Experience:

-6 Months Work Experience with the following

-Operate mainframe and/or server computers

-Utilize system, performance and diagnostic tools (OMEGAMON)

-Execute timely batch schedules

-Provide first level support

-Work in a team and/or project environment

-Troubleshoot incidents

-Monitor environmental systems

-Network & Peripheral Equipment Operations

-Implement and utilize operating methodologies

-Implement and utilize automation packages

-Operating System (0S/390 or MVS/ESA)

Tools & Technology:

-MVS/XA, Windows (2000/NT/XP, LINUX, UNIX)

-Console Utilities & Diagnostic Tools (MVS/JES2, TSO/ISPF, IOF/SDSF)

-CLISTS, JCL, SYSLOG, LOGREC, DUMPS

-Online Reference Library (BOOKMANAGER, QUICKREF)

-System Management Tools (for example, THRUPUT MANAGER, MIM, WHATSUP PRO)

-System Automation (CA-7)

-AF/OPERATOR, OPS/MVS, AUTOMATE X/C, AUTOMATION POINT, SA/390, TBSM

-Security Systems (TOP SECRET or RACF or AOF OPERATOR)

-Online Regions (CICS, DBS, IDMS, ORACLE, WEBSPHERE)

-Batch Processing (CA-7, CONTROL-M, TWS)

-Monitoring (OMEGAMON, NETVIEW, BMC PATROL, CONCORDE)

-Tape Management Systems (CONTROL-T or ZARA or RMM)

-ATLS, IBM/VTS, SMS, TMS

-Incident Management System (INFOMAN) Your future duties and responsibilities
