At Lamb Weston, the safety and wellness of our Team Members is of paramount priority above all other initiatives. The recipient of this exciting Professional Nursing opportunity will oversee the care, comfort and well-being of employees at the Twin Falls, Idaho Lamb Weston manufacturing facility.
The Nurse LPN (facility Nurse) will support and assist Physician's Assistants during examinations and treatment of employees. The Nurse observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reactions and progress. Of most excitement, the Nurse LPN will lead and collaborate in developing preventive health care programs for our hard working and innovative employees. Working collaboratively with plant leadership, the Nurse will have professional oversight of the overall wellness and health of our workforce, advancing our journey towards work-class wellness! The Nurse will have a presence in facility safety programs, including participating with the Central Safety Committee.
A Licensed Practical Nurse certification is required. The Nurse LPN shall comply with Occupational Health Services policies and procedures and provide occupational health services including: injury and illness prevention, health promotion, and health maintenance within scope of practice/licensure. The Nurse LPN reports directly to the facility Safety Manager and serves as the facilities licensed medical professional and resource.
Collaborates with other health, safety, production, and human resources team members in a comprehensive approach to team member health.
Maintains openness to needs and well-being of Team Members within the Twin Falls facility.
Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
Provides nursing care for occupational and non-occupational conditions based upon the Medical Evaluation Guidelines.
Determines need for medical treatment of occupational injuries and coordinates treatment.
Maintains confidentiality of team member health records according to company policy and regulatory standards.
Maintain and adhere to the Occupational Health Services Policy and Medical Evaluation Guidelines.
Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
Recommends preventative and corrective measures, as well as proposes and communicates accommodation suggestions as needed.
Assists with team members' health promotion, education, and training programs.
Assists with maintenance and documentation of workers' compensation cases. Communicates with work comp claim administrators as necessary.
Serves as the site’s medical professional and primary communication liaison amongst the Company, Team Members and local medical community where appropriate.
Oversees case management, serving as the professional liaison between the Company and off site medical provider(s).
Makes referrals to outside health care agencies as needed for work and non-work related injuries/illnesses.
Schedules and/or perform assessments and testing according to company policy: Including but not limited to, health assessments for post-hire, injury/illness, respirator/Hazmat surveillance, drug and alcohol testing.
Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
Trains individuals on wellness programs.
Performs OSHA Recordkeeping.
Evaluates injury history for trends and opportunities for safety and health focused improvement projects.
Participates in Key Concepts of Safety processes.
Manages FMLA leaves and return to work.
Education and/or Experience: Minimum current LPN Certification issued from the State of Idaho. One to two years’ experience in worker’s comp, OSHA recordkeeping regulations, and return to work case injury case management in an industrial environment highly preferred.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and be able to communicate effectively and professionally using various methods. Skilled and professional mature candidate comfortable with self-directed and autonomous work.
*Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Minimum academic preparation includes completion of accredited school of Licensed Practical nursing program and current license to practice as a registered LPN nurse, or higher registration, in the State of Idaho. Current American Red Cross/National Safety Council CPR/First Aid instructor certification preferred, but must have the ability to attain certification within six months of employment. Must have own professional liability insurance policy in force. CAOHC Certificate (Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing) required, or must have the ability to attain certification within one year of employment.
