Position Summary:

Provide Research and Development support and effective project management for commercialization of new products including potatoes, co-manufacturing and vegetables process equipment and products.  The position will ensure effective use of resources and communication of priorities across the Research and Development department. This position will also be responsible for creating needed systems and guidelines for the Innovation Center.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide necessary support during the new product development rollouts and startups of new products and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies and procedures, programs and practices
  • Collaborate with product development, packaging, quality, planning, and operations to document, maintain, approve, and publish specifications and process improvements.
  • Project management leadership of new product/offering commercialization projects for assigned product groups. Coordinate and support cost build-up, CIR development, material set-up/readiness, scale-up efforts and launch/post launch metrics.
  • Provide business planning support (Strategic Plan, Operating Plan, Capital Planning) to assigned business teams and plant locations;
  • Support quality improvement strategies for assigned product groups as assigned
  • Under supervision, support technical and cross functional projects teams as assigned
  • Support continuous improvement efforts, procedures and tasks to provide more efficient processes.

Responsible for capturing, updating and supporting the Environmental, Safety, and Sanitation Programs.


Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:

  • B.S. degree required, Food Science, Engineering or related field
  • 2 years minimum, previous experience in manufacturing;
  • Strong understanding of our manufacturing unit operations;
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently;
  • Strong problem solving aptitude;
  • Influence management skills with the ability to manage cross-functional resources without direct reporting relationships;
  • Excellent communication skills - both formal and informal with the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization;
  • Possess continuous improvement mindset;

20%-30% travel required


 Physical Requirements:

Incumbent must have the ability to effectively perform all of the following physical demands without assistance:

  • Ability to safely and comfortably lift 25 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time up to 4 hours
  • Work in a kitchen setting on various surface types.
  • Exposure to microwaves and testing equipment.
