Network / NOC Admin (Job Number:425145)
Responsible for management and maintenance of enterprise headquarters and field locations using industry standards and tailored processes to maintain network availability and ensure security accreditation; maintenance of network hardware/software configurations (UP); management of equipment/assets (AM), routers, and switches.
Responsible for network operations, security operations, security incident and audit management for networking and NOC services
Works with Engineering to ensure the smooth and managed transition of new technologies into the production environment.
Manages and provides technical direction for departments such as: Helpdesk, Site Support, Computer Operations, Production Control, Network Operations Center, and Data Entry.
Responsibilities include setting the high level technical direction, defining requirements, designing solutions, and developing implementation plans in accordance with strategic initiatives.
Assists in the development of policies, procedures, and project plans and determining the implementation priorities and resource requirements.
Manage the day-to-day operations to ensure that standards and policies are followed to provide the highest levels of quality for services.
Accountable for the fiscal planning and adherence to budget.
Articulate technical solutions to customers and requests technical support from management and other departmental personnel.
Builds, manages, and expands strategic relationships with the customer base.
Works on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible factors.
Primarily responsible for managing the overall network and system s environment.
Exercises judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, division, or company operations.
Regularly interacts with all levels of management. Interactions may involve controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influencing and persuading other senior level managers.
Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through several department managers within the company having overall responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs, methods and employees.
Requires creation of a course of action in the solving or troubleshooting of complex technical problems of considerable scope and complexity. The problems may require conducting research, conceiving new and innovative ideas or solutions, predicting what will happen.
Developing new ideas and theories or creative solutions to the problem.
Performs research that results in documented recommendations for new strategic services or innovative improvements to existing services.
Translates efforts to quantifiable improvements in the quality and cost effectiveness of projects and services.
Clearance Level Must Possess: Top Secret (TS)
Clearance Level Must be able to Obtain: Top Secret (TS)
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
ITIL Foundation v3, expert preferred
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 9 years experience supporting network operations
Experience supervising and supporting 24x7x365 Network Operations Center (NOC)
Experience Overseeing Incident Management and Request Management as defined by ITIL
Experience implementing SLA's & KPI's that are structure to focus on internal and external customer requirements.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Desired familiarity with a wide range of products and vendors in the telecommunications environment (voice, data, wireless, and video)
Preferred certifications: CompTIA Server +, CCNP
Comprehensive knowledge of the current information technology environment, including applications, operating and network systems.
Requires multiple business applications and the ability to analyze new technology and its application to the current environment.
Advanced degree in related technical field desired.
