As the Information Systems Security Specialist you will be responsible for maintaining the Cyber Security posture with the existing information system located in Washington, DC, ensuring operational security is maintained in the secure environment with a small team of IT and Cyber Security professionals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform Continuous Monitoring
  • Assist the ISSM in meeting their duties and responsibilities
  • Ensure systems are operated, maintained and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures as outlined in the security authorization package
  • Attend required technical and security training (operating system, networking and security management) relative to assigned duties
  • Maintain required Cyber Security certifications
  • Ensure all users have the requisite security clearances, authorization, need-to-know, and are aware of their security responsibilities before granting access to the information system
  • Report all security-related incidents to the ISSM
  • Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with security authorization package
  • Serve as a member of the Change Control Board, as needed
  • Coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software or firmware of a system with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change
  • Formally notify the ISSM and AO/DAO when changes occur that might affect system authorization
  • Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly
  • Ensure all information system security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals
  • Ensure audit records are collected, reviewed and documented (to include any anomalies)

Position Requirements:

  • DoD 8140/8570 certification for IAT Level II and IAM Level 1
  • Risk Management Framework experience a plus
  • Microsoft and VMware certifications a plus
  • Up to 5% travel CONUS
  • Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5 to 7 years of related experience

Security Requirements:
US Citizenship required and active TS clearance with SCI eligibility
