About the position:
The SAP COE Director (SAP CoE) will providedeep technical expertise and technical governance of National Grid?s overallSAP landscape. This COE will partner closely with functional tower teams,business customers, and other IT stakeholders to ensure that National Gridmaximizes the SAP investment and integrate efficiently and consistently withthe broader ecosystem.

The Director will be responsible forleading a team of senior SAP platform and data architects who will partner withkey stakeholders and leadership to provide technical leadership andgovernance. This team of SAP ?experts? will support transformation,delivery and realization of SAP solutions across several areas including: Finance& Controlling, HR, HCM, Accounting, Supply Chain, Analytics/BusinessIntelligence (BI), Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), Sales &Distribution among other modules.

Job responsibilities including but not limited to:
Ownand lead overall SAP technical governance in partnership with functional teamsand the SAP managed service provider
Continuallyassess the impact of emerging SAP technologies against strategic business needsand interpret business value for the leadership team in a consultative capacity
OwnExecutive level communication and interaction including consulting, andtranslating tower needs and strategies into achievable and sustainabletechnical architectures
Hire,coach, train, and lead a high calibre and diverse team of professional SAP architectswho will provide SAP platform and data architecture expertise to the enterprise
Ensure the consistency and maintainability of new and existing SAPapplications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing technical standards,guidance and reference architectures
Leadefforts to ensure the workplace environment supports a highly motivated andeffective workforce focused on continuous improvement and best practices
Experience withglobal implementations of CRM programs, expert knowledge of sales technologysolutions, and decision support tools.
Prioritize andmanage multiple tasks with flexibility and deliver results on time.
Understandindustry trends, best practices especially with respect to the utilitiesindustry
Demonstrateforward thinking to identify key trends, understand the business? strategiesand develop and deliver mobility solutions and content that meet business needsand latest trends
Identify,source, mine, and leverage external data to achieve identified outcomes
Drive the vision, strategy, roadmap and implementation of performanceindicators and supporting metrics and trends for SAP solutions
Seek out continuous improvement opportunities and provide input andrecommendations
Lead continuous improvement efforts.
Job Dimensions:
Responsible for developing,implementing and managing company?s SAP strategy
Coordinate cross-functional and cross-application work teams toward taskcompletion
Main Interfaces:
Reportsto the USIS VP of Program Delivery
Collaborateswith project and program delivery teams to enable solution delivery success
CommunicateSAP COE goals and vision to executive leadership

Knowledge, Experience & Technical Know How:
Significant experience building and leading SAP architecture and governance functions at an enterprise level including the creation and architecture standards, reference architectures and data models
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities demanding both rigorous attention to detail and high level comprehensive solutions
8-10 years of progressive experience in SAP, application development
Previous supervisory or leadership experience
Experience in working in cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively at the senior leadership levels of a company
Experience integrating SAP solutions into a broad array of non-legacy technologies and architectures
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related discipline with 5-8 years of practical experience (required)
Master?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related discipline and relevant experience architecting complex solutions (preferred)

Knowledge & Technical Know-how:
Deep knowledge of SAP technical and functional architecture, data model along with new and emerging SAP capabilities
Knowledge of SAP capabilities in the areas of financials, supply chain, BI/analytics and GRC preferred
High degree of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent writing proficiency, visual design, and presentation skills required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
Prior experience managing Mobility implementations, upgrades, transitions
Strong working knowledge of SAP Modules (e.g., BC, EP/PI, FICO, GRC, HANA, HCM, SCM, SD)
Experience leveraging critical thinking and exposure to change management principles
Excellent writing proficiency, visual design, and presentation skills required
