Job Purpose:
This position works on the global Process Excellence team, supporting the development of our process and performance excellence capability. Our goal is to enable and support the business to find a better way through the tools that we use, but more importantly IN our actions and behaviors.
The PEX Coach position is a pivotal role within our organization that acts as an internal Coach, trainer, industry expert, ambassador and role model on the team.
This role will be responsible for supporting the training and coaching of PEX for the US business IN support of building our internal sustained capability. This role may also be required to provide facilitation support to other key development interventions such as building high performing teams, coaching capability build and support for internal business conferences.
This position reports to the Director, Change Management & Capability, and will work with members of the global Process Excellence team, Human Resources, process teams and operations leaders.
Key Accountabilities:
Support and enable development of PEX capability by providing a challenging and stretching learning experience to promote the behaviors and actions for a sustainable continuous improvement environment:
Program delivery ? delivery of core PEX development programs (including but not limited to: leadership development, middle level and senior level training, coaching for performance, business skills, change management etc.).
Coaching ? provide coaching to support the development of PEx capability and mentor on the use of PEx tools
Support global Lean programs for National Grid creating a culture of problem solving and root cause analysis to deliver sustainable business improvement results for the organization.
Proactively identify, monitor & manage program opportunities/issues/risks.
Work to build, facilitate and support any Communities of Interest or Practice associated with those programs or capabilities.
Coaching capability support - increasing & enhancing internal coaching capability.
Work with the broader Change Management & Capability team to provide input to the design of development sessions to bring an accessible, cost effective, innovative and engaging delivery lens.
Train the Trainer - Facilitate the development of employees to cascade development training sessions.
Quality Management System adherence - using evaluation and observation data (collated by the US PEX Training team), work with the US PEX Training team, external vendors and associates to continually improve the design and delivery approaches we use.
Learning Environment ? work with the US PEX Training Coordinator to ensure the availability and suitability of delivery venue, materials and resources.
Manage the safety and wellbeing of all participants attending development training & coaching sessions
Undertake any assessment and verification that may be required of specific development training sessions.
Build and maintain a strong external network to ensure ongoing benchmarking and the ability to bring innovative and progressive learning delivery techniques into the organization.
Qualifications
Capability Requirements:
Lean/Six Sigma certification, coaching, facilitation accreditations.
Significant delivery experience and strong facilitation skills IN virtual and live environments to support the development of continuous improvement capability.
Able to translate strategy, challenges and emerging priorities for learners.
Credibility and gravitas ? able to facilitate groups of leaders more senior than themselves.
Flexible and adaptable individual who can build rapport easily and flex their style to suit different audiences and styles.
Emotional intelligence and self-awareness (especially of own impact) and the ability to read the room and respond to reactions IN others.
Qualified Coach (preferred).
Strong focus on own development and passionate about that of others.
Recognized expertise IN field; understanding of industry best practices.
Knowledge of learning methods and understanding of best practices and accelerated learning techniques.
Ability to successfully prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
Strong decision making and time management skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Bachelor?s degree preferably IN, business discipline with considerable knowledge and proven experience IN professional business setting.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor?s Degree, Master?s Degree preferred
Lean/Six Sigma Certification (preferred)
Minimum of 7 years facilitation experience, certifications preferred.
