Provides system engineering leadership and program management support to HEL development programs. Integrates the activities of multiple engineering subject matter experts into cohesive deliverables. As a leader in an interdisciplinary engineering and technology team, directs and collaborates with subject matter experts in software, mechanical, power, thermal, electrical, production, and specialty engineering to support programs, pursuits, and internal R&D activities.
High Energy Lasers, HEL, Directed Energy, Electro Optics, Photonics, ZEMAX, SIMULINK, MATLAB, Research Engineering, Laser Beams, Solid State Lasers, Infrared and Sensors.
Technical proficiency in the field of HEL systems development and integration, with strong foundation in beam control. Experience in project leadership and in directing technical staff. Self-starter with initiative and tenacity to meet deadlines with quality products. Team-player with the ability to work with a diverse range of individuals and to build and develop cohesive and effective engineering teams. Effective in oral presentation. Good written and briefing slide development skills. Operative skill in MATLAB and industry standard software tools required to be effective in the position.
Demonstrated potential to advance in technical and programmatic responsibilities, supported by publications, advanced degree(s), and challenging program achievements. Demonstrated skill in advanced high energy laser system concepts and engineering. Scientific and mathematical grasp of the theory and practice of atmospheric propagation of laser beams. Proficient in ZEMAX and SIMULINK. Experience in test-bed and instrumentation setup for experiments and demonstrations.
