Provides strategic Labor Relations advice and counsels client organizations in the administration of labor contracts, using metrics and analytics for business-based decisions. Negotiates and/or supports labor negotiating activities in a variety of roles. Conducts workplace investigations related to workplace conflict and grievance disputes. Advocates arbitrations. Advises, counsels and coaches leaders in such areas as labor relations, compensation, staffing and workforce planning, and culture in a unionized environment.
Possess general knowledge in the field of human resources, with specific knowledge and/or experience in the area of labor contract administration and negotiations. Possess general knowledge of state and federal laws affecting the employment of hourly represented employees, including FMLA, ADA, NLRA, EEOC, FEHA, Title VII, State Unemployment, and FLSA. Possess strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver persuasive and well-organized ideas in both written and verbal form. Must be able to analyze complex problems, exercise sound judgment, and appropriately manage conflict.
Be a team player, comfortable dealing with employees and management personnel at all levels within the organization; effective at developing and maintaining relationships. An ideal candidate will have familiarity with factory operations in a union environment. Proficient at Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); experience with LMPeople or People Soft is preferred.
